Described as "emerald by day, ruby by night,” alexandrite is the very rare color-change variety of the mineral chrysoberyl. Color-changing alexandrite is nature's magic trick. In daylight, alexandrite appears greenish-blue to dark green, but in incandescent or candlelight, it looks purple to red.

This ring is gorgeous. It's more amazing to see in person. Pictures don't come close to doing it justice... Presentation and delivery as well as customer service .. are all a 10 out of 10!!!!!! I can't scream how great they are loud enough!!! Side Note if you have this ring and have not seen it under blacklight you should :) even more special effects from an already amazing gemstone .
